Through Dubeň with a view of Žilina and Malá Fatra:

The city of Žilina offers a number of locations in its immediate vicinity suitable for active leisure time. One of them is a walk on the Dubeň hill, which is known to almost every resident of Žilina. It is easy on physical condition, available for all ages and offers views where you can see the whole city like in the palm of your hand. The view of Malá Fatra will also be an added value. Dubeň is such a small Žilina ridge and the tourist trail markings are also red, as is the case with "ridges". I decided on a bicycle and the start of the route near Vodno dielo Žilina. In a short time I went to Teplička nad Váhom, from where we have to overcome a small elevation on the asphalt road to get to the level of Dubň. However, you have to be careful, especially if our team includes children, because this "shortcut" is also used by cyclists who go down in the opposite direction and like to release more of their brakes to enjoy the feeling of speed. It is therefore safe to follow the right side of the asphalt pavement.

Once we have overcome this climb, we turn left onto the road that leads from Žilina to Zástrania and cross the forest path that skirts Dubeň from beginning to end. It is a trail with a slight, easy climb, which turns downhill after reaching the highest point. Our path is surrounded by avenues of trees , which create different feelings in every season and in the variety of weather. In approximately 2/3, there is a 27m high observation tower with a view of the surrounding area.
